Free Courses With YSM


With funding from the Churchill Fellowship, we are able to provide a number of free courses.


We know that times are tough for everyone and being able to provide training and suppport means we can reach more people across the UK.

Self Directed Support For Personal Budgets


YSM is happy to announce that we have set up a new course aimed at anyone who is thinking about applying for a personal budget.


In partnership with the GMCDP (Greater Manchester Coalition for Disabled People) we have set up two sessions on this topic, entirely free for people to attend.

Do Something Different - Introduction to the role of a PA. Aimed at everyone over 16 +

How To Be a Good EmployerThis is for any individual employer who employs  their own PA's . 

We also do courses on LGBTQ+ and how to deal with hate crime, both as a disabled person and as a PA. 

These courses can be catered to any organisation and is in line with Skills For Care guidelines but delivered by people with lived experience. 

PA Recruitment and On-going Support

We offer support and guidance for disabled people who need a PA.  We can do the following:

Help find a PA suitable for your needs
Advertise and market a PA 
Interview potential PA's
Help Sign post you to a brokerage to manage your budget and payroll if you don’t already have one.
Optional on-going support 

We develop a bespoke package that meets individual needs 


Our services have been used at some of the biggest companies in the North West


We have worked with Manchester Metropolitan University to deliver lectures about the Social Model of disability to their first year BA Social Work students, which proved to be a huge success.


And more recently we were invited by Skills for Care to help shape and create a PA and Individual Employer Agreement document to be used to improve the quality of delivery and standards for PA's for Skills.
